Dedicated Volunteers Recognized by Zufall Health

Somerville, NJ – More than 100 dedicated volunteers who donate time, talents, and energy to Zufall Health were honored recently at the Fifth Annual Volunteer Appreciation event at the Bridgewater Manor. The volunteers provide a wide range of supportive services at the nonprofit community health center which offers affordable medical and dental care to patients in six New Jersey counties.

“We are most appreciative for the enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers who support our work improving health in the communities we serve,” said Eva Turbiner, Zufall’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Were it not for the volunteers who helped Dr. Bob Zufall and his wife Kathryn establish the health center nearly 30 years ago, we might not exist today.”

The Kathleen Nordman Dental Quality Award’s First Recipient is Dr. Antonella Maietta

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Antonella Maietta is the first recipient of Zufall Health’s Kathleen Nordman Dental Quality Award. This award is given to a Zufall dental provider in recognition of exemplary quality of care and patient engagement. “I experienced that family feel from my earliest days at Zufall”, said Dr. Maietta. “The camaraderie I have with my coworkers is comforting and fortifying. I appreciate how hardworking, empathetic, and responsible everyone is and I am proud to be a part of that family. That they should feel the same about me and would want me to receive this award is touching and profoundly meaningful to me especially since I could not do my job nearly as effectively without them.”

Dr. Maietta has been a valuable member of the dental team starting her career at Zufall in our Flemington Healthy Smile Center and on the mobile unit. Her dedication to mobile dentistry and the van program has helped contribute to the great success of the Delta Dental Mobile. Like many Zufall dental providers, she has forged a special bond with her patients which contributes to their high satisfaction. Congratulations, Dr. Maietta!
