New Jersey’s Commissioner of Health Visits Zufall Health in Dover

Dover, NJ — (July 12, 2018)  Zufall Health recently welcomed  New Jersey Health Commissioner Dr. Shareef Elnahal who visited the health center’s medical and dental offices at its Dover headquarters site.

Led on a tour by Zufall Chief Operating Officer Eva Turbiner, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rina Ramirez, and Chief Dental Officer Dr. Sam Wakim, the Commissioner had the opportunity to meet Manuel Hernandez, a young man who has been a Zufall patient since childhood.  He also interacted with medical, dental, and administrative staff.

The visit concluded with a round table discussion with Zufall senior staff members about health issues including outreach for open enrollment in Affordable Care Act insurance plans, care for separated immigrant children, maternal/child health, and addiction treatment.

“We were delighted to host Dr. Elnahal and appreciate the time he spent learning about Zufall and the issues we face providing care to our 37,000 patients in northern and central New Jersey,” said Turbiner.

Accompanying the Commissioner were Deputy Commissioner Deborah Hartel and Assistant Commissioner Nashon Hornsby.
