Just in time for back-to-school, the Vision to Learn Vision Van visited Zufall Health to provide free vision screening and free eyeglasses to Zufall pediatric patients aged 4 to 18. During the two-day event, 71 youngsters had their vision checked and 48 of them will receive glasses in about a week. For many families served by Zufall, affording eye care and glasses is financially out of reach. Nationally, more than 2 million children do not have the glasses they need to see the blackboard, participate in class, or read a book. Giving our patients the gift of sight and a chance to do better in school was made possible by the support of the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved and Vision to Learn.
