In May, the House of Representatives passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a major budget reconciliation bill that includes significant changes to the Medicaid program. Last week, the Senate proposed even steeper cuts, and is expected to vote by July 4.

If enacted, 10.3 million people could lose Medicaid coverage by 2034, including 1.3 million who rely on both Medicaid and Medicare. The impact on community health centers like Zufall—where 1 in 3 patients depend on Medicaid—would be devastating.

Medicaid also covers nearly 1 in 4 Americans, including half of all children, one-third of people with disabilities, and many seniors and veterans. It’s supported by 77% of voters.
