Zufall Health has been serving New Jersey families with compassion and respect for more than three decades. From the first few hundred patients we cared for in 1990 to the 50,000 we now see annually, our commitment remains clear: ensuring health care access for all. Today, that commitment is compromised by a myriad of economic and policy challenges.

Medicaid cuts, rising health care costs, and a reimbursement gap strain our ability to serve all who need us. Meanwhile, economic hardship is widespread across New Jersey:

• 1.2 million New Jersey households struggle to meet basic needs (United Way, 2025)
• Property taxes have risen 13% between 2019 and 2024, while wages have only increased 4% (NJ21st, 2025)
• Homelessness has climbed 36% between 2018 and 2024 (Point in Time, 2024)
• Nearly 1 million residents face food insecurity (Community Food Bank of NJ, 2025)
• 44% of New Jerseyans say they are “falling behind” on personal finances (Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, 2025)

The newly created Zufall Cares Fund bridges these gaps to ensure patients receive essential care even in the toughest times. Contributions support access to quality and affordable medical, dental, behavioral health, and supportive services for everyone — no matter who they are, how much money they earn, what language they speak, or what kind of insurance they have, if any.

People who have access to care stay healthier, miss fewer days of work, and avoid costly emergency room visits. The entire community benefits. With your help, patients who might otherwise go without care can continue to rely on Zufall Health.
