Highlands Health Van Dental Services
The Highlands Health Van is a licensed extension of Zufall Health. Community partners in areas of high need throughout Morris, Sussex, Hunterdon, and Warren counties are able to request the van to visit their site to provide high-quality, affordable dental care. To request a van visit, please email our event coordinator Sirley Roa.
Eligibility: Zufall provides preventive dental services to children in high-need areas, the homeless, public housing residents, veterans, and farm workers and their family members via a mobile health van. Patients who are uninsured or have Medicaid or NJ Family Care can receive services on the van. Pre-registration is usually required but walk-ons are also welcome. Individuals with private insurance cannot be seen on the van.
Appointments: Once a van visit is arranged with a partner site, a liaison at the site schedules the appointments a week before the event. The Van/Outreach staff provides information and a scheduling template to the host site. In cases where a liaison is not available, the Zufall Outreach staff will register the patients and schedule the appointments.
Services: The HHV offers a range of dental services for children and adults.
No Cost Services: Typically, during the first van visit to a site, patients are offered oral/dental screening exams, teeth polishing, limited x-rays, and fluoride treatments at no cost to the patient.
Discounted Van Fees: A follow-up van visit can be arranged whereby uninsured patients can sign up to receive additional dental services on the van at a discounted rate. These services include full x-rays, treatment plan, denture adjustments, and relines (re-fitting).
Registration: A brief registration form is available for the first van visit. Patients seeking additional care at the center will need to bring:
1. Photo identification
2. Proof of income such as a pay stub, income tax return or a letter of employment
3. Proof of address
